Active Launceston Project Manager
After growing up in rural Tasmania, Lucy moved to Victoria to study
Recreation Management at Victoria University. She graduated in 2000 with the Parks and Leisure Australia award for ‘Student of Excellence’.
Following experiences at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre and Melbourne Juvenile Justice Centre, Lucy started her career in recreation as an Activity Officer for a resort on the east coast of Tasmania, Freycinet Lodge. Succeeding this Lucy pursued her
interest with young people and recreation and became the Program Manager at Ashley Youth Detention Centre – Tasmania’s only youth detention facility.
She then took time out of her working life to travel around the world and retuned to Tasmania and gained a position as the Youth and Community Officer for Launceston City Council.
Lucy then moved onto the Parks and Recreation Department of Launceston City Council as the Recreation Planning Officer where she was involved in strategic recreation planning, event management, program coordination and facility development.
In 2008 Lucy moved onto The University of Tasmania to develop and manage Active Launceston.
Lucy also does consulting work on behalf of the University and is currently working with the George Town community in Northern Tasmania.
Lucy has also done some part time teaching at TAFE Tasmania in the Children’s Services Department. She was also selected to represent Tasmania by Rotary International for a Group Study Exchange to Brazil in 2007.
Lucy keeps active through playing hockey, touch football and tennis and does some running with her mates along with the occasional pilates, yoga or bootcamp session.
Lucy’s work colleagues and friends would describe her as energetic, loud, fit and passionate.

DONNA CAMPBELL
Active Launceston Project Officer
Donna has lived all her life in Perth Tasmania. After finishing college in 1991 Donna worked at the Launceston General Hospital as a technician in the Central Sterilizing Unit. In 1997 Donna left the Launceston General Hospital to care for her first child. She then returned to part time work in 2004 as a receptionist at the Toosey Aged Care Centre at Longford.
In 2005 Donna moved to the University of Tasmania’s Department of Rural Health which saw her take on many administrative roles as receptionist. In 2006 Donna was promoted to Admin Coordinator within the Department of Rural Health and then to Personal Assistant to the Directors of Rural Health in 2008.
In 2009 Donna moved within the University to take up a position as Project Officer for the Active Launceston Program.
Donna keeps active through walking and keeping up with her 3 energetic children.
Donna’s work colleagues and friends would describe her as loyal, dedicated and passionate.
VICTORIA BICK
Active Launceston Project Coordinator
Upon completion of year 12 in 2002, Victoria participated in a cultural exchange to Brazil for 12 months, on return Victoria moved to Melbourne to study International Business at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Victoria transferred to the University of Tasmania (UTAS) in 2007, graduating with a Bachelor of Business majoring in International Business, Marketing and International Relations in 2008.
During her time at UTAS, Victoria found her passion for the physical activity sector, commencing employment at UTAS Sport and Recreation. Victoria was initially employed as a reception officer in 2008 but through her demonstrated work ethic and passion for the industry, was successful in her application for the Health and Wellbeing coordinator role in Hobart. Following 12 months in the role, Victoria was promoted to Team Leader at the Launceston campus. Following her role as Team Leader, Victoria then undertook a state wide role as Events and Operations coordinator for Unigym (UTAS Sport and Recreation).
In 2011, Victoria moved to the Active Launceston Project at UTAS. Coupled with Victoria’s experience in the fitness industry and experience with UTAS’s health and wellbeing program – Active UTAS, Victoria has helped to develop new programs and initiatives at Active Launceston.
Victoria keeps active through playing golf, running, bushwalking, fitness classes and of course through participating in Active Launceston activities!
Victoria’s work colleagues and friends would describe her as being exuberant, practical, approachable and determined.
